History

A story of expertise, growth
and international vision

Since 1973, Sferova has built an industrial journey founded on technical expertise, production quality and the ability to evolve together with the needs of the Oil & Gas sector. From the first stainless-steel machining activities to the design of ball valves for critical applications, the company has consolidated over time an engineering identity oriented towards reliability, performance and international presence.
1983 The first industrial growth

1983 marked a first phase of significant growth, with the purchase of a new 800-square-metre facility in Ronco Briantino and the introduction of the first numerically controlled machine tools. In these years, the range of valves designed and manufactured progressively expanded, including solutions of increasingly larger dimensions and heavy-duty valves for very high-pressure applications.

1999 A new international push

In 1999, Mauro Villa became Sole Director of Sferova, inaugurating a new phase of development oriented towards the company’s commercial strengthening and international growth. Under his leadership, Sferova progressively consolidated its presence on foreign markets, developing strategic relationships in the most relevant areas for the Oil & Gas sector and strengthening its entry into the vendor lists of important international operators.

2008 The new Sulbiate headquarters

In 2008, Sferova transferred its headquarters to a modern industrial facility in Sulbiate, designed to respond to new production, organizational and growth needs. The site extends over approximately 11,000 square metres, of which 3,000 are dedicated to production and 1,000 to offices. In this phase, the company strengthened its internal structure, adding new expertise in the different departments and reaching approximately 50 employees.

2012 The presence in Kazakhstan

In 2012, Sferova was selected to enter the main technology park in Kazakhstan, in Aksai, responding to the request for a local production presence. Thus Sferova Kazakhstan was created, which in a short time established itself in the production of high-technology ball valves and entered the vendor lists of important Kazakh oil companies, with a covered area of 1,700 square metres dedicated to production. In 2025, Sferova concluded its presence within the Aksai technology park, continuing to oversee the Kazakh market through qualified partnerships and consolidated relationships with the Oil & Gas sector.

2014 The industrial experience in China

In 2014, Sferova established Sferova Changshu Valve Company, a wholly owned subsidiary in China, with the objective of strengthening international production capacity and manufacturing high-quality ball valves in a competitive industrial context. Valve engineering, management and quality procedures remained Italian, as did the supervision of the main professional functions. The site includes 5,000 square metres of production area and 400 square metres of offices. The industrial experience in China contributed to strengthening the group’s production know-how, the management of international processes and the ability to operate in complex and competitive markets.

2018 The expansion in the United States

In 2018, Sferova expanded its overseas presence with the opening of a sales office in Houston, Texas, and the establishment of Sferova USA LLC. The objective was to strengthen penetration in the markets of the United States, Canada and South America, consolidating direct relationships with the main local players in the Oil & Gas sector and supporting customers and projects in the American area with greater proximity.
